2011 DRIP (Deed Restrictions Improvement Project) Every violation is a little drop in the bucket. Let's keep Chatham a desirable neighborhood! Our restrictions were last revised in 1998 and things continue to change over the years. I’m hoping to formally collect all suggestions for improvement from now until the fall and then hold committee meetings with the intention of reviewing the suggestions and implementing any desired changes into a revised set of restrictions. If the committee agrees, we will collect signatures in the early spring of 2011. We can hold a few sessions at the Church with a notary public so residents can stop by and sign the paperwork. We’ll need at least 50% of all owners (each house gets one “vote”) to make it official. To keep it simple, deed restrictions are an agreement among neighbors as to how they want to maintain the neighborhood. Hopefully we can all agree that Chatham needs to remain “one of Brandywine Hundred's loveliest areas in which to live”. Even if we decide not to change the restrictions I hope this process will make everyone more aware of their agreed responsibilities. I hope you will join us in this effort, Ray Buchta, President
